Comfort and Superb Audio Quality

Sony LinkBuds S I have never been a great fan of “in-ear” headphones since my early experiences listening to John Peel on Sounds of the Seventies under the bed covers on my first pocket transistor radio. Fast forward a few decades, now with tinnitus, I tend to favour “over ear” headphones (corded, FM and latterly Bluetooth). With all that said: the Sony LinkBuds S have proved a revelation to me. Getting Started The QR code on the box took me directly to the on line help guide to set up the device. I first charged the buds (via the supplied usb cable) next was to select the correct size of silicone loops which fit inside the ear (there are four pairs to choose from SS, S, M, LL attaching/detaching to change size couldn’t be simpler) Small was most comfortable for me, I then popped the LinkBuds S in my ears, paired them to my iPhone and started listening to music and podcasts. I literally forgot they were in my ears until I needed to recharge them over 5 hours later! Then I just popped them in their case to recharge Up to 20 hours on a single charge. The noise cancellation feature allowed me switch between my own audio world or invite the outside world in Taking a phone call while listening to The Beatles Abbey Road using the “Speak to Chat” function gave me crystal clear sound quality (even when walking the dog on a breezy May afternoon!) I particularly like the fact that the LinkBuds S are discreet. I see many people wearing buds that draw attention to themselves as they look like Shrek or one of his siblings. I found the sound balanced, the treble clear and clean, the bass rich without booming. The broad soundstage allowed the mid-range to come through nicely providing a totally immersive sound experience from these lightweight and compact buds. The graphic equalizer accessible via the Headphone Connect app gave me a selection of additional settings and custom modes. The LinkBuds S ticked all the boxes for me.

can't modify controls flexibly enough

I am not happy with these earbuds. They say you can control volume, start/stop, and noise-cancelling mode from the buds - and that is true, but only two of those functions at a time. There is no option to have all three functions active at once, because of the weird way Sony "groups" the ear-bud controls together - I don't need commands they force you to add in with the noise cancelling control, like start spotify or some other app I never use, but there is no way to e.g. replace the function of those commands with volume up and down. So half the commands are taken up by functions I don't need, but I can't replace them with the functions I DO need. You can only swap in and out 'groups' of functions - and volume up/down, noise cancelling on/off, and start/stop controls are in 3 different 'groups' - so you have to choose between two of those functions (plus all the extra ones in each group, even if you don't want those extra functions). If Sony fixed this I would like the buds a lot. As it is I can't operate them without physically getting my phone out, which is useless. A wasted purchase. It's also really annoying that if you select start/stop to be available on one earbud, you can't disable the track forward/backward function that sits in the same group. I don't know how many times I ended up forwarding multiple tracks when I put the buds into or out of my ear - which when you listen to podcasts is incredibly annoying because of how hard it then is to find your place again...

More than a year ago I bought my first headphones. Almost daily used, everyone was satisfied. sound, noise cancellation I suited, But a year later, the right earphone began to quickly discharge (the charge was enough for 10-15 minutes). Decided to buy new Sony chose 1000xm5, despite the fact that this is the better model for me, it turned out to be worse than Linksbuds S: Terrible landing, bad noise reduction ... only the sound is better. I had to buy one more Linksbuds S.

Köpte dessa Linkbuds S på Power online. Har lyssnat en del och de imponerar. Vad som inte imponerar är att man ska ha tre appar pch den specifikt för hörlurarna är överdrivet tillktånglad. Dessutom får msn ingen synlig markering (led) när man laddar eller när de är fullt laddsde. Då måste man in i appen. Dumt.

Batterie ne tient plus la charge après 15 mois d'utilisation. Pas de suppression de bruit, pas d'assistant vocal, pas d'égaliseur, pas de LDAC, juste l'audio - et la batterie s'épuise en 40 minutes. Il est inacceptable que le produit se détériore si rapidement. 3 mois après la fin de la garantie et il est inutilisable

I have had these for 5 months and they are brilliant with the app i tweaked the EQ ever so slightly to my liking. The sound is insane on the level of detail you can hear every note especially using LDAC. Passthrough mode works flawlessly i can talk to people aroind with like im not wearing the headphones even with playing music that only i can hear. The oppersit in noisecancelling is incredible cant hear a thing around me from a tap of the ear bud. Both of which can be adjusted in the app to your liking for more or less noise supression or pass through. Call quality is nuts due to the quality sound supression the person on the other end can hear me crystal clear with no background noise even on a very windy day. I even wore them all day from morning when i woke up to before i went to bed. All day comfort and long battery life.

Sehr bequeme Kopfhörer mit gutem Sound und vielen Einstellmöglichkeiten, was den EQ betrifft. Der Klang ist hervorragend, genauso wie der Tragekomfort. Einzige Kritikpunkte: Die Farbe Ecru könnte etwas heller sein, mir ist sie dunkel. Und dann das steife Ladekabel von gerade mal 22 cm, USB C auf USB A - liebes Sony-Team: ein längeres Ladekabel wäre prima und gerne auch auf USB C. 30cm mehr und alles wäre perfekt!

These were a birthday present back in July 2023 and initially very happy with them, and then a couple of weeks ago the left hand bud stopped working properly. Contacted Sony who's customer service was awful and very unhelpful. It was only when I showed the retailer the response from Sony that they took it upon themselves to replace them free of charge (Well done John Lewis!). I would seriously think twice about buying any Sony tech again.

Ich habe so viele Bewertungen über dieses Headset gelesen und trotz des hohen Preises (200 eur) habe ich mich für den Kauf entschieden. Aus der Sicht des Klangs, sie sind okay. Sie haben nicht, dass große oberen Töne und die Standard-Sound zur Verfügung gestellt ist nicht so reich. Ich musste sie manuell einstellen, um die Bässe zu reduzieren und die oberen Stimmen zu verstärken. Vom Klang her würde ich sagen, dass es im Bereich der 80EUR Anker Soundcore Headsets liegt. Ein weiteres, weitaus größeres Problem, für das ich den Kauf dieses Kopfhörers bereue, ist der Nebengeräuschmodus, der sich automatisch einschaltet, sobald ich einen Anruf tätige. Es ist unmöglich, den anderen Gesprächsteilnehmer zu hören, wenn man sich auf einer öffentlichen Straße, einem Bahnhof oder in einem offenen Büro befindet, wo die Leute neben einem sprechen. Leider habe ich das zu spät bemerkt und konnte sie nicht mehr zurückgeben. Außerdem hört man, sobald man ein Gespräch beginnt, ein knackendes Geräusch in den Ohren, so dass man sofort daran denkt, das Gespräch zu beenden. Das ist für 200 EUR Ohrstöpsel wirklich inakzeptabel. Es ist nicht möglich, sie abzuschalten. Sony hat offensichtlich viele Beschwerden darüber gesehen und diese Softwarefunktion im Sony WF-1000XM5 mit der Umschalttaste "Capture Voice During a Phone Call" bereitgestellt. Ich denke, diese Funktion sollte in allen Sony-Kopfhörern über 100 EUR implementiert werden. Die Steuerung über die Tasten ist ebenfalls auf vordefinierte Funktionen beschränkt. Man kann nicht jeden Ohrhörer unabhängig konfigurieren, wie es bei anderen Marken für die Hälfte des Preises der Fall ist. Alles in allem habe ich von Sony viel mehr erwartet und ich fordere Sie auf, zumindest die gleiche Softwarefunktion - "Aufzeichnung der Stimme während eines Telefonats" - wie bei den Sony WF-1000XM5 Ohrhörern anzubieten.

Super son. La réduction de bruit active est bluffante mais lorsqu'activée, les écouteurs se déconnectent parfois. Tantôt juste l'oreillette gauche, tantôt les deux et c'est plutôt embêtant.

These are good earbuds - comfortable. The Noise cancelling is reasonably good and if used with app changes with activity/location. Easy to set up. The touch control is good and they have a long battery life (shorter with noise cancelling). The sound quality is good but not outstanding - you can adjust with the app and equaliser..

Sköna nog att ta slut på batteriet

Köpte lurarna tillsammans med min mobiltelefon eftersom jag ville ha brusreduceringen i in ear lurar och jag är supernöjd. De är sköna att ha i öronen (så sköna att jag lyssnar slutet på batteriet vilket aldrig hänt tidigare - sin tur är går det snabbt att ladda) och funktionen med att de släpper igenom omgivningens ljud om jag börjar prata fungerar perfekt (förutom att jag inte längre kan sjunga med i musiken - fast det är nog mina kollegor glada för). Kort sagt, de flesta lurar jag faktiskt kunnat ha i öronen en helt arbetsdag.

I was not able to pair these earbuds with my iphone 15 right out of the box. Instead, After much time investiment and research, I concluded that the right earbud does not charge at all. Very tricky and not to be solved at all by following the various online instructions given out by sony (om pairing, resetting, initialinz, charging). I spent my time and money on earbuds that come with problems right out of the box and am not even able to use them!

Kurz und knapp: Besser als die WF-XM3. ANC ist nur minimal besser aber der halt im Ohr ist unbeschreiblich gut. Eigenen sich für Rad, Sport und Freizeit. Mikrofon ist besser als bei den XM3 aber auch nicht super gut!

Great sounding ear buds Noise cancelling and ambient sound work well Initial connection to my iPhone 13 Mini is hit or miss. More often than not the ear buds need to be returned to their case a couple of times before they connect Once connected they work well switching between an iPhone and a Windows 11 laptop for Teams calls.

Waar voor je geld!

Ik ben overgestapt van een Nothing Ear 1 oortjes, omdat ik na een jaar toch niet helemaal tevreden was met de kwaliteit. Onstabiele verbinding, één oordopje die wegvalt en dan de oortjes moest resetten en opnieuw verbinden met mijn telefoon. Met de LinksBuds S heb ik dit probleem niet meer en de geluidskwaliteit is zeker 2x beter. De kwaliteit van de microfoon is ook 2 tot 3x keer beter dan die van de Ear 1. Ik vind de software opties ook veel uitgebreider en, de aanraak functie veel beter en fijner voor mijn oren. Geweldigste functie vind ik het verbinden met 2 apparaten tegelijkertijd. Ideaal wanneer ik met mijn werklaptop verbonden ben en even tussendoor wat op mijn telefoon wilt beluisteren. De overgang van apparaat naar apparaat gaat feilloos en bijna zonder vertraging. De oordopjes en de case voelen lekker in de handen. De noise canceling werkt ook velen malen beter dan de Ear 1. Ik hoor mijn omgeving niet en zelfs niet mijn tv wanneer deze op volume 10-15 is en zit er vlak naast achter mijn computer. Echt waar voor mijn geld en Sony heeft mij niet teleurgesteld ook niet met andere producten z.a. smart TV en PS5.

Eigentlich gut

Ich habe diese als Ersatz für meine defekte In-Ear Hörer geholt. Was mich überzeugt sind folgende Punkte: 1. Handhabbarkeit 2. Passung im Ohr (wirklich top, ist natürlich sehr subjektiv. Die bewahren sich für mich deutlich besser als die von der Konkurrenz). 3. Sound. Ja, auch Sound überzeugt mich. Das liegt an dem eingebauten Equalizer, den man für seine Bedürfnisse erstmal anpassen muss. 4. Gewicht 5. Funktionen 6. ANC finde ich für mich als völlig ausreichend 7. Der Automatische Transparenzmodus, wenn man anfängt sich zu unterhalten. Folgende Punkte sind mir negativ aufgefallen 1. Akkuleistung (klar, es gibt diverse Tipps, um mehr Laufzeit zu bekommen. Im Vergleich zu Konkurrenz ist diese aber deutlich schwächer) 2. Herstellen der Verbindung ist sub-optimal. Das kann man deutlich besser lösen. 3. Die Tasten sind durchaus sehr empfindlich Nichtsdestotrotz finde ich diese Linkbuds durchaus gelungen. Von mir gibt es auf jeden Falls Empfehlung, zumal man diese mittlerweile zu einem vernünftigen Preis bekommen kann.

Geluid is goed, verbinding onbetrouwbaar

Ik heb de oortjes nu een half jaar in gebruik. Regelmatig merk ik dat het geluid uit (een van de) oortjes is gestopt en later weer verder gaat. Soms moet ik ze in de case stoppen om verbinding te herstellen. Ook stopt regelmatig audio helemaal of is de verbinding tijdens een telefoon gesprek ineens weg zonder duidelijke aanleiding. Noise canceling werkt wel erg goed overigens. Ik heb ze net verstuurd aan een reparatie service na contact met de klantenservice. Ik hoop op een fix, want ze zijn te duur voor de kwaliteit die ik nu ervaar.

Shocked to see that sony sells such a device with a sub quality hissy sound. The sidetone keeps blasting at full volume while on call and no way to disable this, what in The world is sony thinking

Bought just over a month ago and am having issues with the sound in one ear (a seemingly common issue). I am trying to book a repair, but cannot enter valid model number. The drop down menu doesn't work and the model number from the Booklet isn't recognised. Feeling a bit scammed by Sony right now.

Misleading battery life

I bought these particularly on the basis of the advertised battery life being up to 20 hours. This is incredibly misleading because having tried three pairs, the maximum battery life was between six and 6 1/2 hours, which is just not good enough.

I got these when my running earphones broke. Everything about them is excellent other than they don’t stay in my ears when running. I tried all the Bud sizes but nothing would work. Returned to the shop I got them for a refund.

Ho acquistato questo paio di auricolari inear perché mi fido molto del marchio Sony . Le cuffie funzionano perfettamente, hanno un suono pulito e cristallino e bassi profondi. Le uso principalmente col telefono e il PC abbinandole di volta in volta all'uno o all'altro senza problemi. L unica pecca che ho trovato e il materiale usato per costruirle, mi aspettavo una finitura lucida nel colore earth blu ma invece le cuffie sono in plastica opaca. Nel complesso però sono molto soddisfatto.

Impressive sound for a tiny package

I’ve only had them a couple of weeks but so far I’m very impressed with these earbuds. They’re super lightweight and pretty comfortable, as long as you don’t push them too far into your ears trying to make the perfect noise-cancelling seal, which I’ve done a couple of times. It can be a bit frustrating trying to get the seal just right, but it’s generally straightforward. Sound quality is excellent, if not in the same league as my over-ear WH1000XM3, but I don’t expect them to be for half the price. Bass is decent but not brilliant. The battery life is plenty for my usage (commuting and gym), only needing to recharge the case once in 2 weeks. The buds and the case are so small and light that they are incredibly portable, exactly what I need to be able to put in my pocket and forget about them until they’re needed. Very impressed.

Als Ersatz für WF-1000XM gekauft, da war der Akku jetzt nach 50 Minuten runter. Höre nur lossless Klassik, zusammen mit bluetooth eine echte Herausforderung , Akkulaufzeit überraschend lange. Telefonieren auch perfekt. Bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Kauf, zumal die Einstellungen gegenüber früheren Modellen überraschend komfortabel sind.Und die Möglichkeit die Buds mit nem HighResAudioPlayer und Telefon gleichzeitig zu verbinden, Lossless zu hören und kein Telefon zu verpassen - super!

In die Welt der In-Ear Bluetooth-Ohrhörer bin ich erst seit kurzem eingestiegen. Zuerst schien das Konzept dekadent - teure High-Tech-Geräte mit nicht wechselbaren Batterien, nur damit die Hersteller mehr Geld verlangen können und ein bisschen Platz im Handy freibekommen? Kabelgebundene Kopfhörer kosten nur einen Bruchteil, haben keine Verbindungsprobleme, keine Latenz, brauchen kein Etui und gehen wahrscheinlich auch nicht so schnell verloren... Während alle diese Punkte zwar durchaus zutreffen, kann man halt nicht die Vorteile von (guten) In-Ear Ohrhörern beurteilen wenn man sie noch nie getragen hat. Vor etlichen Monaten bin ich dann über ein Angebot der Realme Buds Air 3 Neo gestolpert und dachte mir, für 30 Euro kann man ja mal sehen was es mit der Sache auf sich hat. Und siehe da: Man muss nicht mehr ständig die Handbewegungen mit dem Kabel in Einklang bringen; man kann auch mal vom Rechner aufstehen und sich ins Nebenzimmer begeben, ohne die Musik anzuhalten und die Stöpsel mühsam rauszunehmen und wieder einzusetzen. Klar, die Musikqualität ist bei den Airs halt nur "ausreichend" für Sachen wie Podcasts oder einfache Musikuntermalung. Bass hat man bloß angedeutet, bei Videospielen gibt es eine spaßausbremsende Latenz von Mausklick bis Soundeffekt, und die bei manchen Ohrhörer angepriesene Rauschunterdrückung sucht man auch vergeblich. Deswegen habe ich mich vor ein paar Wochen letztendlich für die Linkbuds S entschieden, und bin nun vollauf zufrieden. Der Klang ist merklich besser (für einen nicht-audiophilen Nutzer wie mich fehlen sprichwörtlich die Worte, um den Unterschied genau zu beschreiben - man sollte hierzu Test- und Erfahrungsberichte konsultieren), Bass ist wieder da, Latenz ist wahrnehmbar aber gering genug zum Genießen von Spielen und Livestreams, und (für mich der Hauptkaufgrund) die aktive Geräuschunterdrückung funktioniert einwandfrei (die Linkbuds S decken den Gehörgang auch besser ab). Bei zu lauten Geräuschen kann es natürlich keine Wunder zaubern, sind ja keine Ohrenschützer. Letztendlich bin ich mit den Linkbuds S sehr zufrieden, deshalb auch die 5 Sterne. Leider hat mein Handy (Axon 7) nur Android 8, was wohl dafür ist dass Sony's App "Headphones Connect" nicht richtig funktioniert - es fordert eine neuere Version als die, die im Play Store verfügbar ist... Und als Quickcharge-verwöhnter Handynutzer ist die Ladezeit von bis zu 2 Stunden für Etui und Ohrhörer ein wenig nervig, hoffentlich lässt sich das mit zukünftiger Technik bessern.

Ich hatte sie mir als Ersatz für meine Apple ear pods bestellt, die ich dann doch wiedergefunden habe. Aber der sound ist in dieser Preiskategorie so großartig und das ANC funktioniert auch super, daher habe ich sie behalten. Was ich mit ihnen aber noch nicht geschafft habe ist, zu telefonieren, zumindest geht das nicht intuitiv, vielleicht auch gar nicht. Dafür habe ich ja jetzt wieder die Apples;) Eins noch, die sitzen perfekt im Ohr, kein schieben, drücken und drehen...

Great for people with small ears!

I bought these just shy of 2 months ago and they have been the best earbuds I have used. I have had so much trouble with earbuds due to having really small ears. Even with the smallest earbud attachment they are more often than not still too big for my ears. The earbuds themselves are often too big and stick out my ears really far too. I saw these online and with them being extremely light and having the extra small earbud attachment I thought they would be worth trying. I was not disappointed at all! The extra small attachment is a perfect fit, the buds themselves are very light and not bulky at all. The sound quality is fantastic, lots of settings to change the bass/treble ect to have it the way its suits you. Crisp clear sound. The noise cancelling is brilliant. I use these at nighttime as my husband snores ridiculously loud and these block out most of it, which I'm so happy about. I can hear my podcasts and videos perfectly. The battery life could be a bit better but I know when making them so light some things have to be compromised. They still last at least 5 hours though. All in all these are amazing and I couldn't recommend them enough. What you get for the price is fantastic.

Good headphones, bad HCI

I got this a few weeks ago and have been using them mainly for travel, the notice cancellation is good for trains and busses if you don't enjoy the background noises. I did find that voices would still get through if you just have NC on and nothing playing. The fit is nice and secure and the audio quality is good for the price, the only downside I have is the controls, they're not really intuitive and not customisable, you have to have both headphones in for them to work properly and when taking them in and out or adjusting them you can accidentally press a button.

ik heb ze nu een tijdje in gebruik en ze zijn super. Zowel tijdens het sporten als rijden in een cabrio doen ze hun werk uitstekend. Tijdens wandelen gebruik ik alleen de rechtse en dat is ook geweldig. De software is helemaal top. Ik gebruik ze het meest bij mijn telefoon maar af en toe bij mijn tablet !. Superfijn dat je ze op 2 apparaten kan aanslaten.

Good headphones, problems a month, warranty so so

These earbuds are getting better than earbuds in the past; overall though, I am not happy with these earbuds. I was most impressed with using these for phone calls. Finally, people I spoke with did not have too much of a problem hearing me, but that is the biggest positive. The other attributes are similar to other earbuds, but Sony's warranty service is not good for such a large company. After 1.5 months, I have problems with the earbuds turning off automatically and the controls on the right earbud do not work half of the time. They automatically turned off on me 3 times during this past Friday and twice on Sunday. Unlike J**ra, they will not pay for me to send the product in for service under their warranty. I must pay to send the earbuds for warranty repair. This should not happen with such a big company. This alone does not want me to buy from them again. Also, the adaptive system is supposed to change, but for whatever reason, even though I am on the bicycle, the system stays on what they call "Staying," as if I am not moving, even though there are many sounds around me when I cycle. Other than those 3 things, the sound quality is pretty good, I like the size and the look, I'm glad people can hear me better on these than all other earbuds I've used previously, the case is small so they are easy to carry around and the app is pretty nice.

Comfy, light and keeps noise out

I bought these to replace the Google Pixel Pro headphones I had and I'm annoyed I didn't buy these sooner! Not only are they a lot cheaper but they're so much lighter, fit in my ears better, have louder volume allowance (sometimes I really do just want to drown the world out lol) and the noise cancellation is super - I can just sit with the headphones in without music playing and it drastically reduces the surrounding sounds, making things feels so much calmer. Added bonus is they're a nice colour too (Earth Blue). Would definitely recommend!

Ich nutze sie jetzt schon seit 3 Monaten und habe schon ca. 200h hörzeit. Das spricht für sich. Was ich schade finde ist das die Software mit der adaptiven Geräuschunterdrückung Probleme hat weswegen sich das anc (active notice canceling) deaktiviert und auf Umgebungsgeräusche umstellt. Deswegen nur 4 Sterne ansonsten mega.

Great little buds

Had these for a couple of months now and find the size fits really nicely. The sound quality is pretty good but I found it did need the EQ needed a little tweek to give them a little more treble but apart from that they have been great

I bought this on holiday on the Marella cruise shop, toss up on getting the wf-1000xm4 at the time as already had the previous model. Need some adjustments on the treble but overall these are an understated model for those that appreciate quality sound but want value for money.

Ces écouteurs sont excellents. Il y a beaucoup de très bonnes fonctionnalités dommage que pour l’audio spatial qu’il n’y ai pas de service gratuit pour en profiter. Mais cela n’enlève rien à la qualité sonore. Ils ont en plus un equalizer pour les mordus de sons qui aiment régler à leur convenance. Big Up pour l’app qui va avec tellement elle est géniale.

Sehr Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

Ich habe die Linkbuds S vor bald einem jahr gekauft, und habe inzwischen über 1100 stunden diese verwendet (siehe Screenshot). Natürlich kamen sie nicht an dedizierte boxen ran, von der Soundqualität her. Auch meine Over ears die ich bis dahin hauptsächlich unterwegs benutzt hatte (jabra elite 85 h) hatten einen zumindest für mich besseren Sound. Dazu muss man aber anmerken, dass diese teuerer sind und eben nicht die vorteile des Wireless in-ear formfaktors haben. Trotz hartem benutzen (oft runtergefallen, bin ein ungeschickter mensch) funktionieren die kopfhörer nahezu einwandfrei, bis auf ein paar sichtbare scharten und Schäden am ladecase. (Siehe Foto). Noice cancelling und die anderen features wie ambient sound funktioneren einwandfrei. Auch die Begleiterapp ist super praktisch und schön aufgeräumt. Nun aber zum unerfreulichen und negativen. Ich hatte und habe immer wieder verbundungsprobleme, ob diese aber an meinem handy (galaxy a33) oder den kopfhörern liegen kann ich nicht endgültig sagen. Manchmal konnte ich sie verbinden mit meinem tablet (samsung galaxy tab s8 ultra) manchmal ging aber auch dies nicht. Meistens hat ein zurückstecken der kopfhörer+ein bisschen warten geholfen. Manchmal auch das neustarten meines handys, also wie gesagt, wahrscheinlich ein mix aus beidem. Vermutlich hat auch mein nicht allzu sorgsamer umgang mit diesen kopfhörern zu vermehrten fehlern geführt. Positiv seien auch noch der tragekomfort und die plastikfreie verpackung positiv zu erwähnen Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit diesen kopfhörern, und mit sony insgesamt. So überzeugt, dass ich mir die wh 1000xm5 (over ears) vor einer woche gekauft habe. Dazu sei gesagt, dass die linkbuds s wirklich gut sind, selbst im vergleich zu diesen teureren premium-over-ear kopfhörern. Definitiv zu empfehlen
