Downloading videos

I can not download videos taken with my NEX 7 camera to my Mac.  Any solutions?

    Hi Brendastar and welcome.

     

    AVCHD is the standard used for HD video but Apple have been very slow to support this generally accepted format.  It was a bit of a surprise that AVCHD was not natively supported in iMovie 11 when it was released.

     

    You should be able to import HD video to your Mac but iMovie will convert the files from .mts to an AIC file.

    At this time most people use a PC for HD Video editing.

    As Blencogo says, you should still be able to use iMovie to edit your vids. Just connect the camera, launch iMovie, click the camera icon and select the clips you want to import.

     

    If this isn't happening for some reason, let us know and we can troubleshoot it from there.
