So I'm preparing to send my PRS-T1 back for a warranty repair, and i want to backup all the content on the device first; these are books that I've downloaded directly through wi-fi, so they haven't been through the PC at all. They're mostly from Gutenberg, so are DRM free - there shouldn't be any restrictions on moving them.

I run R4PC on my PC, select all the books on the device I want to backup, and click "copy to My Library". But when I look in MyLibrary, there are only 3 books there. After a bit of trial and error, I see that copying other books results in one already there disappearing. It looks as if MyLibrary has a max capacity of three books, and adding a new one results in the deletion of an existing one. I thought maybe the view had to be refreshed somehow, but I see no way to do that. Surely that can't be right ? What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks

There is a previous post/thread on a very similar problem - sorry, can't think of title, try search - but it may be part of the original warranty glitch.

However, no real need to back up Gutenberg titles if there's a bug - make a list & reload them when you get it back !

If you used Calibre you wouldn't need to worry, they would be in the Library there.

    dear carpetmojo,

it seems evident that you work for sony, as well as it's evident that sony is really poor developing software.

if someone write it's unable to transfer ebooks from the reader to the pc, please don't reply that he doen's need to do that because they are drm-free and he can download it again. this is not a professional reply.

a professional programmer will search for the BUG in this poor software, and correct it.

we buyed about 80 (yes, 80) PRS-T2 readers for our libraries, and now we see that books imported in R4PC will desappear from the library at the next login session. no message errors, nothing, you see the books in R4PC after importing, but in the next login session you will find R4PC empty. this is NOT a professional software.

moreover, R4PC is able to see the reader only if running with a windows user with administrator privileges. this is also out of the real world. there is no reasons for that, except that this can be the easy way to solve problems for poor developers.

more-moreover, sony is also not registered as reliable software distributor by Apple, so the R4Mac program cannot be installed on a Mac: the installer procedure refuses to install this piece of non-reliable software.
