I have set up the parental lock function on my Bravia: -

Model number        KDL-37W5500

Software version     1.405EA

I have set the maximum age to 8 and set the pin code but nothing happens at all. You can still watch any program at any time and will never be asked for a pin and no program is "locked".

The program guide is set to Sony Guide, does that matter?

Does the TV need to be online for the parental lock to work?

I cannot find anything else in the manual to tell me how it should work.
