Is this what you are looking for - Instruction/Operation Manual
Help Everyone.
How do I transfer videos from Sony DCR-TRV45E Camcorder to PC?
My PC doesn't have a firewire port.
It has eSATA, HDMI and USB ports.
The Camcorder is not recognised when connected via USB port...
I haven't seen any adaptors or similar so far.
Your suggestions PLEASE!!!!
Thanks!
Do you mean TRV245e? The TRV45e is Video 8 (analogue) which won't connect to PC without a video capture card.
The TRV245e really needs firewire to connect properly. I don't think the cameras USB port is 2.0, so it will be very slow even if you do get it to connect. A firewire card fitted to the PC would be the way to go.
I know you can get firewire to eSATA adaptors and converters, which might possibly work, but I can't guarantee it and they're often more expensive than the FW cards.
Cheers
Mick

Hi Ellie ![]()
I think either would work well, but I'm not clear about options for that particular laptop.
Might be worth posing your question over on the Vaio & Computing forum?

Hi Ellie12,
The E-Series Vaios do not have a PC/PCMCIA card slot - so the two PC Cards you have listed will not fit.
I think you do have an ExpressCard 34 slot - numbered 7 in this diagram: -
So you will need one of these two if you want 6-pin Firewire: -
Or one of these if 4-pin Firewire 400 will do: -
You will find plenty more if you Google for 'ExpressCard34 Firewire'
