My VAIO keeps deleting my Itunes, it happens nearly every time I turn off the computer....when I reboot and open itunes....it has disappeared again!  So I am having to re-import all my library (which is huge) andI loose my playlists....soooo annoying!!

I know this qustion had been asked before and responded to with a link - but when I click on the link it takes me back to the main menu page...

Thankyou guys!

This is a conflict between the Vaio entertainment system and iTunes. Both want to own the music library and to call it the same name and fight to try to delete the other's content.

I believe the easiest way is to rename your iTunes directory path or move it somewhere else. Try creating a new folder in your user account called My Music and move the already created iTunes music folder contents to this. Then hold the Shift Key down when you open iTunes the next time and it will ask you for the path to the iTunes directory. Point it at your new My Music location and everything should be OK.

The only alternative would be to go to Services in Computer Management and Stop the "VAIO Entertainment Database Service" and "VAIO Content Folder Watcher" services. Then change their startup state from 'Automatic' to 'Manual'.

Hey helwinte2 and welcome to Club Vaio.

There should be a number of VAIO Entertainment Platform Updates available that solve this problem but I can't provide a link as I do not know what model Vaio you own.

Best I can offer is for you to check the Vaio updates page for your model.

If there are not any updates available for your Vaio then there is an alternative solution but check for updates first.
