Problems with quality of MDRE9LPB.AE / MDRE820LP.AE products

Hi,

I bought a pair of MDRE9LPB.AE and a pair of MDRE820LP.AE in-ear headphones from sony.co.uk last week.

I was buying these to use with my mp3 player after I ran out of working headphones (I used Sony Twin Turbo previously, maybe "MDRE755"s? which were really good headphones). These items were the closest to the old Sonys I used for years (I bought 6 or 7 pairs which lasted 5 or 6 years).

Unfortunately the quality of product is very very low. The sound quality is poor (very brittle and tinny) and any slight movement of the "jack" causes a crackling static sound.

Is this to be expected with these items or are they faulty?

Obviously I've used these items but can I get a refund from Sony?

Thanks,

Nick

Question about MDR-RF810R headphones

Hello everyone! I'm new in the forum. Last week i have bought Sony MDR-RF810R (on the bottom of the transmitter it said TMR not MDR, i don't know why). I'm using them with my PC for listening music mostly and i notice something. In most songs i experience drop in the vocals when the bass is louder or i lose volume in general when theres some louder part in the track (something like auto volume control). Not in all songs, but in most of it. I don't know why. I'm using WMP12 but tryed several other players - same problem. Youtube - same problem, but if i played the video at the lowest quality the sound is terrible, but there are no drops in the volume. Tryed to reset the soundcard settings to default, switched off the EQ, turning off THX, but the problem is there.

When i connect my Galaxy S earphones to the PC there is not such problem with the sound. Same with my pc speakers - no problem. Then i connect the Sony headphones to my Galaxy S - excelent sound, a little low, but no drops. When i connected them to my wife's Xperia P the problem is back - same as with my PC. If u are wondering the song is the same on the two phones and the PC when i tested the headphones.

So what's the problem and can i solve it. I want to listen the music in the way they created it to be, not with this auto voluming thing... or auto corecting frequencies... or something like that, don't know how to tell it.

Please if someone know how to fix it? Thanks!

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

Message was edited by: parazaa

Message was edited by: parazaa

MDR RF810RK Wireless Headphones

Hi, new to the forums and I hope someone can help me out. I bought the above headphones for my dad for Christmas. Everything is working fine and the sound is great. However, I seem to have a problem with the transmitter / base unit turning itself off. What my dad does is

1) watch his TV using his headphones

2) plug his headphones in to charge overnight

3) go to use his heaphones again in the morning but the green light on the base unit is off. The only way he can get the headphones to work is to turn the transmitter / base unit off (at the plug), wait about 10 seconds and then switch it on. The green light comes on and the pgones work fine.

Is this a power saving 'feature' or is he doing anything wrong? There is no issue with the audio quality or battery life of the headphones, just that he needs to switch off / switch on every time he wants to use them (after charging). I don't know if this happens if he's not charging the headphones.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks

Bren

Message was edited by: Joeandjamesdad

MDR-1r headphones ? WOW !

I must first confess to straying over from the Reader Forum, but I wanted to give my opinion on the Sony MDR-1r cans.

I listen mainly to "Classical" music, leaning heavily towards Handell and Purcell, and the Baroque in general, and lashings of Blues, everything from Mr. Johnson to Joe Bonamassa, with the guitar being a constant.

Alas, so many tracks, so little money .....

Anyway, I shall save a bit of cash for a fair while now, as I'll have to go through my entire, fairly eclectic, collection, listening all over again for the things I missed in the past.

Because these headphones are simply awesome, to my ears anyway. Crystal clear, delivering a depth of tone like you wouldn't believe, and fantastic treble and bass, right through the range. I just could not fault them, and the one time I tried them out at very high volume, was enough to persuade me I now have no need to ruin my eardrums any more than they are already - the quality of sound is pretty extraordinary.

I used to think I had decent 'phones in the past, but not alongside these little beauties. It really is like being in the best seats at a performance.

In fact, watching a DVD of a live concert with them on, is just that !

Appearance-wise, no complaints either. They are trim and neat, light to wear, and very comfortable.

My son and heir, a musician anyway, took them on test for a few days, and I had to threaten him with giving his inheritance to charity before I could get 'em back - and even then he thought for a while ............

Oh, and as far as keeping your sounds to yourself goes, you're safe with these - I got no complaints from those watching yet another re-run of " Downton ...." while I lost myself in my own little combination of "The Messiah"

and Gary Moore and Bonamassa. ( Quite an achievement, frankly........ )

So, in my humble opinion, Sony are onto a real winner with these brilliant headphones.

In fact, if I can convince myself to either carry a man-bag , or wear jackets with proper pockets, I might be diching the Sennhauser earbuds for gadding about in the open air, 'cos I'm now totally spoilt ......

Message was edited by: carpetmojo

Since I live in Europe, I thought that adapter is 100-240v. Sadly, it is 120v only and I realized that today. Probably the adapter burned out. Is there another sony european adapter that can be used together with this transmitter base?

Thanks!

mdr-v700 : sound quality problem

My colleagues's cheap Panasonics sound much better. And the volume dropped as well, I can safely tunr the volume of my Laptop all the way up and still the headphones do not sound way too loud.

My headphones did not fall, got wet or got any other type of damage, in fact they nevel left my office table, and yet, their performance is now very far from what it was or what i would expect from a >100$ set of headphones.

I would appreciate any ideas or comments you might have (I would hate to dump those headphones and buy myself a new set so early after the purchase).

Thanks.

I.
