My E-Reader PRS-T2 Content Application is down!

To make a long story short, I used the cable and conneted my e-reader to my pc and transfered some files, I mean books, to the reader. But when I disconnected the reader, I saw a message that "CONTENT APPLICATION IS STOPPED UNEXPECTEDLY, PLEASE TRY LATER" (something like this). I RESET it and it doesn't work. I changed the memory and it doesn't work. What should I do NOW guys?

I have downloaded Chinese orginal books from ebook store, but unable to read the mess of code.

After several days' effort, I got confirmation from Sony CS that Reader (mine is new T2) cannot support Chinese language fonts.

Really bad design ... not able to support multi-language in today's system. How can imagine that Apple or Samsung smart devices cannot show multi-languages?

hi. please could someone explain to me why my PRS-600 has issues charging? When I USB charge it it senses it, but when i unplug it it says that there is no battery! It completely powers off and it is impossible to switch back on. the same cycle repeats each time i try it! PLEASE help me?? :

Hi folks.

I charged up my PRS-600 and used it ok that night but 24 hours later I wanted to use it and the charge was out i.e. it came on for a few seconds to show the charge was gone and then switched itself off.

I've had the PRS-600 for about 3 yrs, I guess.

Any hints, please?

Hi,

I just wondered if anybody has any idea if the Sony Bookstore will be available in Ireland soon. I was completely mislead when I bought my Sony Reader by the sales person in the store.Was told that I could download books directly from the Sony shop via WIFI, and also that there was a back light on my reader. I am so mad, that I was given wrong information, and also it's a bit arrogant of Sony to sell a product here that can't be used properly. I feel like returning the reader to the store!!

PRS-T2 Standby knop functioneert niet

I have had the prs-t2 for a few days. Now, it seems that the standby button does not work.

I already tried a reset, but I can only restart the device when I connect it to the PC.

Anyone ideas? The latest firmware on it.

Can I get a 'hard reset' do or software again?

I have a Sony PRST1 e-book reader. I want to read periodicals in my language (Romanian) and in order to do so I have to change the font type (from the original to anything else). (By the way, I have to do a lot of research to discover a way to read Romanian characters!). But in case of periodicals, the Table of Contents ribbon covers the font type selection and I cannot select another font type. Is there a way to hide it?

It would be nice if there was some programme designed to block inane, infantile spam wasting the Forum space. Is there not an auto junk remover tool that could swing into action ?

I really can't see the point - what thrill is there in seeing nonsense you've originated appearing on the site you've sent it too ?

I mean, it's not as if it's much of a challenge, is it ! We ain't the Pentagon, or MI6 archives, are we ?

Of course, if they've registered to post on the Forum, which in theory should be the case, they can be closed down - but perhaps that's the challenge ?

PRS-T1 Page turning

Sometimes the page turning doesn't work and it will skip a page. This most often happens if I can't be bothered wearing my glasses and I have turned the font size up large.

Is this a known issue?

The problem happens both with swiping and using the forward-backward buttons.

When it doesn't work it consistently doesn't work and to make sure I can read the text I've missed and I have to change the font size.

Using Dictionary on PRS-T1 results in regular crashes of the reader

Hi,

I've been predominantly using my reader for reading simple german books as I am trying to learn German. That means I am a constant user of the German-English dictionary which is built in. A fantastic feature by the way and one of the reasons why I bought the reader. But it does result in regular crashes.

The crashes happen when returning to the reader from the dictionary. It doesn't happen when I have enough information for the word to be translated at the bottom of the screen - only when I press on the more information button that takes you to the dictionary proper where you can see all the possible translations for the word. Sometimes when this happens the reader loses track of which page I am on. It has lost the last few pages I've read.

I get the noticication come up that says. "The application Reader has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and you are returned to the main screen.

Is there any solution to this? It doesn't stop me using the device but it can get annoying.

I have just taken delivery of the sony prs-t2 reader, and promptly proceeded to take advantage of the enclosed voucher for a Harry Potter book viar the 'pottermore' website.

The supplied code is not accepted on the site.

Has anyone else had this problem, if so how did you overcome it?

I bought the ebook PRS-650 half a year ago and still can not get a real answer about the time of work of rhe accumulator from our russian services. Please help me in getting the truthful information.

I take a full-charges ebook and read every day for about 2 hours a day, and the battery becomes empty in 7 days. Is it ok?

When the ebook is full-charged I can leave it switched of on 2 weeks, for example, and when in two weeks I start reading it, the battery becomes empty in maximum 2 days, is it ok?

Everybody gives me different information, and I can't understand is the work of my ebook PRS-650 correct or not.

Hi all,

As a new owner I am surprised by the poor range of books available and the high price (Tesco sell books for much less) There are almost no technical books, net even a section for them and I find the site on which I registered and tried to download the 100 free books (merely to try to use the device) impossible to use and very inclined to jump about and asking the user to login again and again only to say that you are already logged in.

Is there anything good about Sony E-readers that I have missed?

When exFAT formatted memory card (*2) is inserted in the memory card slot of an applicable model, your data in the memory card will be damaged. Please be sure not to use exFAT formatted memory cards.

(*1) SDXC/microSDXC memory cards are preset to exFAT format at the point of purchase.

(*2) Besides SDXC/microSDXC memory card, Sony Reader does not support other memory cards and other recording media that are formatted with exFAT.

Hello,

After waiting 5 months for a UK store, I am very disappointed by what is on offer. My only books are free books from Project Gutenberg. The computer section has mostly newbie books. The section on Operating Systems only has two, Windows 98 and 7, and the first is in Spanish' If you look at the USA site, there are a lot of interesting books on computing.

I now have an expensive paperweight, courtesy of Sony. My only recourse for the Prs-T1 is to look for as many sites as possible that are not Sony, that I can get books from.

At the end of last month I bought a kindle, and have downloaded Linux magazines from the USA.

Recently, I have found using Sony products to be less than expected, so I will not be buying that brand again.

This company is going the way of Olympus, where its business plan is atrocious. These are example on how not to run a company.
